- Portsea Island Discs; a series of programmes with interviews and music of special guests. Presented by Andy Ferriss. Today our guest is John Marshall, Lord Mayor of Portsmouth. He talks about his life and his career. Born in Portsmouth, he did several different sort of jobs before being Mayor of Portsmouth. He was in banking and went into the RAF, but he always enjoyed Politics, particularly the American politics. He was well known as a local politican since his youth. His father was in the Royal Navy.
