- Chief correspondent Paul Maurice reports on the opening of Ashford International station where Eurostar will stop. Bagpipes and fireworks are heard, followed by speech by Sir Keith Speed, the local MP who cut the tape, announcement (in French) and sound of the first train arriving. Interview with Mike Woods, the planning and project manager for Eurostar, then the first train for Paris departs with Keith Speed commenting as he steps on board.
