Kegworth air disaster. Transport Secretary Paul Channon announces that accident investigators have found evidence of a shutdown in flight of the right aircraft engine and of a fire in the left engine. Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher praises the handling of both the recent Lockerbie and Kegworth air disasters by local people and emergency services.
