- Description
- Kegworth air disaster. John Alcock reports that, following the interview with injured pilot Captain Kevin Hunt, the Civil Aviation Authority has ordered immediate checks on planes similar to that involved in the crash, in the event that instrument failure was to blame for Hunt shutting down the wrong engine. Flight simulator expert William Duncan confirms it is possible for fire warning systems not to trigger. Leader of pilots’ union, Mike Wallis says it is not possible to rule out human error. Consultant Mike Pepperman confirms Hunt is coping well.
