Jim Clayton?) on the Birmingham smallpox outbreak. 40 year-old Janet Parker died early this morning (11/09/78), but 260 others have been cleared by the Catherine-de-Barnes Hospital and although three more women have been admitted for tests, they have not fallen ill; the outbreak has been contained.
