Description
Neil Mainland reports on the continuing National Union of Mineworkers strike. Union President, Arthur Scargill brushed aside any threat to the campaign, despite a rebellion among pithead winders in Staffordshire. He says the enormous losses in production show the ban is working and the miners are winning. He also says they are considering joining action with the National Union of Railwaymen. Trevor Bell represents the NUM’s white-collar workers on the Executive; he discusses the wages situation.
