- Description
- Margaret Gilmore interviews Len Murray, General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), about the Budget. Murray says there is nothing for the four million people who are now jobless. Pensioners and families also will not see any benefit. The Chancellor, Nigel Lawson, would argue that the low-paid have been helped because the tax thresholds have gone up again. Murray concludes that this Budget does not help those members of society who have been worst hit.
