- Description
- Report on the Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet, which is to leave London and make Birmingham its new home. The company’s director, Jeremy Isaacs, says the move will enable them to mount more ambitious and better productions. Ballet director Peter Wright says new funding will help the ballet to become a greater company. Councillor Brian Bird says the move is a proud moment for Birmingham, whilst the founder of the ballet, Dame Ninette de Valois, also welcomes the decision. But Julie Francis Allen and Michael O’Hare, dancers at the ballet, face a difficult decision about whether to leave London. Margaret Shiels reports.
