- A pit boss is being hailed a hero this morning after risking his life to help save ten of his men. They were trapped for six hours after a tunnel caved in at High Moor Colliery in North Derbyshire. All escaped unhurt. Pit manager Ernest Hardy describes the rescue procedure. British Coal area director Ted Horton praises the members who assisted the rescue. Local MP, Tony Benn praises the miners, whom he claims do a dangerous, skilled job. Linda Duffin reports from the pit.
