Description

Police have revealed that a young boy nearly became the third victim of arsonists who killed a middle-aged couple at a South London tower block. Victor and Audrey Johnson were unable to escape from their blazing seventeeth-floor flat after fitting a wrought iron security door. Mr Johnson’s brother John says the couple’s four year-old grandson was a regular visitor and could easily have been killed. Detective Superintendent Kenneth John says the arsonist may be identifiable by burns or scars. Gareth Furby reports.
