Description
The most powerful voices in football have teamed up with Labour leader Neil Kinnock to fight the introduction of compulsory identity cards at soccer matches. Kinnock says the scheme will not solve the problem of hooliganism in society, and the Government must listen to the game’s rulers. Jack Dunnett, Footbal League President, claims it could cost up to 70 million pounds, whilst Rogan Taylor of the Football Supporters Association claims it is not fair on those fans who cause no problems. Conservative MP, Alistair Burt thinks the scheme will work, over time. Paul Rowley reports.
