- Description
- The arrest of Sri Lankan (failed asylum seeker?) Viraj Mendis has provoked a political storm. Earlier today the thirty-two year-old communist and Tamil separatist was forcibly seized and removed from the Manchester church where he had been in hiding for two years. Protest demonstration spokesman Ed Jones describes the protests against the man’s deportation, and criticises police and the Home Office. Clip includes the singing of demonstrators. Female reporter not identified.
