After the outcry over today’s seizing of Sri Lankan (failed asylum seeker?) Viraj Mendis, Home Office Minister Tim Renton defends the actions of police in arresting him. Renton says that Mendis had remained in Britain unlawfully for more than thirteen years, having exhausted the legal procedure. Male reporter not identified.
