Description

Andrew Manderstam reports on US President Ronald Reagan’s State of the Union address. Reagan insisted that under his administration the economy and America as a whole was much improved. He also conceded that the US budget deficit remained a problem and he announced that he had appealed to the leaders of both major political parties to work out a common policy to reduce the present record level. Reagan announced the go-ahead for permanently-manned US space stations. He also spoke about nuclear weapons and the Middle East.
