Angela Rippon Drivetime interview with General Secretary of the RMT, Jimmy Knapp following Transport Secretary John MacGregor’s House of Commons announcement on rail privatisation. Knapp arguing that the proposals are a cherry-pickers’ charter and the Government does not know where it is heading. Also denying that privatisation will get freight off the road and onto rail, and on the increased anxiety of his members over their jobs, pensions and conditions of service.
