Robert Allen reports on the three-year campaign to save the Accident and Emergency (A & E) ward of St Bartholomew’s (Barts) Hospital and the final hours of the battle before the ward closed on 27th January 1995. Includes interviews with: former Casualty Sister Nicky Ross on the closure; Tom Sackville, Health Minister, on the health policy behind the closure; Tim Battle, spokesman of Royal Hospitals Trust, on the provision of alternative health services.
