- Douglas Cameron presents the 06:00 news bulletin the morning after the beginning of the Gulf War. At a press conference, White House spokesman Marlin Fitzwater announces the start of the military operation, Desert Storm, and President George Bush outlines the aims of the war. CNN reporters in Baghdad describe the attack. Paul Maurice and James Matthews report from Saudi Arabia, from where the attacks are being launched. Mark Vince(?) reports from Jerusalem where people have been instructed to prepare for chemical attack. The UN Secretary General, Javier Perez de Cuellar and CNN reporter John Holliman, comment.
