- Description
- Jeff Collins reports on an eight million pound marketing drive launched to promote London as a world tourist centre. It follows consultation with big business to design a new logo that companies can use in their advertising around the globe. London has been given a special image: three sprite-like figures dancing above the word London. Colin Hobbs, Managing Director of London’s Tourist Board, says the capital needs an identity. Chairman of the London Tourist Board, Sir John Egan, says London is competing with the likes of Paris, but can win the struggle. London-born international athlete and TV presenter Kriss Akabusi says people do have outdated views of the city. Andrew David of Hilton Hotels says this new promotional drive is a great idea.
