University Vice-Chancellors have unveiled plans for an emergency levy on students after accusing the Government of abandoning its commitment to quality further education. The plan for a £300 flat fee runs counter to the principle that students shouldn’t pay for higher education. Reporter Nick Wood visited universities throughout London to gauge the impact.
