- Peter Murphy reports on talks at Number 10 Downing Street in London, between the UK Prime Minister, John Major and political leaders from Northern Ireland, on the increasing violence in the province. In a press statement the PM described the discussions as frank and wide-ranging. It was the first time in 16 years that a Prime Minister had sat at the same table with leaders of the four main political parties.
