- John Pickford reports on yesterday’s IRA bomb attack on a gasworks in Warrington when 3 explosions caused a huge fireball but no fatalities. Includes statement by Cheshire Assistant Chief Constable Brian Glaister(?) on PC Mark Toker, shot when he stopped a van with three men in Warrington, and the subsequent police chase and arrest of two of the terrorists, who had hijacked a car. Also interviews with paramedic David Chadwick, who administered aid to Toker; Chief Fire Officer Dennis Davis; and eyewitnesses on the explosions.
