Description

Angela Rippon live telephone interview, on her FM Drivetime show, with doctor Jim Rowe at Airedale General Hospital, following the withdrawal of life prolonging treatment and subsequent death of his patient 22-year-old Hillsborough disaster victim Tony Bland. The law lords had ruled in favour of the action with the support of Tony’s parents. On the threat of a private prosecution against him for murder by pro-life activists; extensive legal and ethical discussion prior to taking the action; ethical dilemmas brought by advances in medical technology; the relief of Tony’s parents and staff following his death.
