Heathrow Airport’s northern runway was closed last night following an IRA mortar attack which coincided with the parliamentary debate on the renewal of the Prevention of Terrorism Act. The attack has prompted concern for the future of the Downing Street declaration on the future of Northern Ireland. Report by David Kermode from Heathrow in the radio car includes eyewitness accounts and has poor audio throughout; also Home Secretary Michael Howard announces the attacks to the House of Commons; head of the Anti-Terrorist Squad David Tucker and Deputy Managing Director of Heathrow Airport Roger Cato give their reactions.
