- Description
- A regiment of Australians marched through London today, ready to take over guard duties at Buckingham Palace. They will also stand duty outside the Tower of London, St James’s Palace and Windsor Castle. It is the first time that any Australian regiment has guarded all three royal homes and the crown jewels. It is part of Australia’s 200th birthday celebrations. Gareth Furby joined the Diggers as they struck up Waltzing Matilda. Includes vox pop with the guards and onlookers.
