- Description
- The Conservatives held on to a Westminster City Council seat last night, despite the row over the sale of three cemeteries for 15 pence. The by-election was held after Conservative councillor Peter Hartley resigned over the cemeteries issue. Tory Simon Milton won with a comfortable majority, as Eve Conway reports. We hear from Milton, and from Lady Porter, leader of Westminster Council; clip also includes part of a speech by defeated Labour candidate Francis Prideaux.
