Description

Statement by Lieutenant Commander Peter McDonnell (read by Lieutenant Commander Jonathan Hattersley), following his sentence of a severe reprimand after being convicted of negligence by a military court. The trainee Royal Navy commander was in charge of a nuclear submarine, the Trenchant, which sank a Scottish fishing trawler called the Antares in 1990. All four fishermen died in the accident.
