- Description
- Philip Cottrell reports on a vote by the UN Security Council in New York to impose sweeping sanctions on Serbia in an attempt to end fighting in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The vote came hours after renewed shelling of Sarajevo and Dubrovnik. On the eve of the vote the Serbian government pleaded for clemency, saying it has no control of the irregular forces fighting in Bosnia. The measures are expected to have harsh effects in Belgrade. Includes views from Momcilo Koprivica, Yugoslav Envoy at the UN; Indian ambassador to the UN (poss. Chinmaya Gharekhan); Sir David Hannay, UK ambassador to the UN; Jasmine Killen, Croatia’s Ministry of Information.
