- Mark Phillips reports on anniversary celebrations marking the election of the first Labour MP to sit in the House of Commons. Keir Hardie was elected as the MP for West Ham in July 1892 but a hundred years on few people in the area know who he was or why he was such a significant historical figure. Newham Council is staging a number of events to acknowledge the event. Includes interviews with Stephen Timms, Newham Council leader; former Labour leader, Michael Foot.
