- The country’s newest and biggest union, Unison, has come into existence today. An amalgamation of NALGO, COHSE and NUPE, it has 1.4 million members in the public services. Nicky Broyd speaks to its first general secretary, Alan Jinkinson, who says the merger makes sense.
