- Description
- Labour MP Ron Brown is appealing against his deselection by Labour Party members by a 39-23 vote after being tried for smashing up the home of former mistress Nolanda Hill and the alleged theft of her knickers. Despite this, Brown insists he is still popular as ever, and Labour has simply lost touch with the people. Scottish Labour minister Jimmy Allison does not count Brown out just yet, despite it being extremely probable the deselection vote will be ratified. Brown, whose wife May is currently being treated for cancer, says he is considering standing as an independent in his constituency of Edinburgh Leith. John McGill reports.
