- Description
- John Humphrys (not heard in clip) interviews Chancellor Kenneth Clarke on BBC television’s On the Record, where he defends the Prime Minister John Major following attacks from within the Conservative Party over his economic policies and stance on Europe. Latest attacks have come from former Premier Margaret Thatcher in her autobiography The Path to Power, but Clarke says it was her Government which created the economic difficulties for which she now blames the PM.
