- Paul Woodley reports from New York where the United Nations Security Council has approved a US-sponsored resolution authorising use of force to restore democracy to Haiti following the ousting of President Jean-Bertrand Aristide in a military coup instigated by Raul Cedras, Michel Francois, and Phillipe Biamby. The resolution gives the go-ahead for a US-led multi-national force to invade Haiti. Includes statements by Madeleine Albright, US ambassador; Alfonse D’Amato, New York senator.
