- Admiral Leighton Smith, NATO troop commander in Bosnia gives a press conference in London describing the operation to rescue a US pilot shot down in Serbian-held territory in Bosnia. A crack team of US Marines was sent in, led by Marty Bert. Captain Scott O’Grady had been hiding in woodland for 6 days.
