Home Secretary David Waddington has hit back at allegations that he has betrayed police officers by vetoing an arbitration award helping them with their rent. Police Federation Chairman Alan Eastwood made the claim at his annual conference in Scarborough - delegates then gave the minister a frosty reception when he arrived to address them.
