- William Roncon reports on the acquittal of two police officers at the Old Bailey of the manslaughter of illegal immigrant Joy Gardner in North London on 28/07/93. Detective Sergeant Linda Evans and PC Colin Whitby have been cleared, and the case against John Burrell dropped. We hear Myrna Simpson, Joy’s mother, speaking outside the Old Bailey, also Claude Moraes from the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants, and Mike Bennett from the Police Federation.
