Britain’s greatest prima ballerina Dame Margot Fonteyn returned to Covent Garden last night for a royal charity gala in her honour. It included the ballet Romeo and Juliet which she made famous, this time Rudolf Nureyev danced but did not take the lead role. Phil Edwards reports and speaks briefly with Placido Domingo (whoe serenaded Fonteyn in the performance) and Fonteyn and takes a vox pop with audience members. Ends with music from the ballet.
