Jo Ricards(?) reports on a cancer scandal at Birmingham’s Royal Orthopaedic Hospital where 42 people were wrongly diagnosed resulting in unnecessary treatment for some and incorrect all-clear results for others, 1800 cases are to be reviewed and the consultant involved, Carol Starkey, has retired. A preliminary report into the scandal has just been released. Speakers are wrongfully-diagnosed 14-year-old Debbie Leary; Dr Enid Vincent from the inquiry panel; Professor Rod Griffiths Director of Public Health and Dr Gillian Todd Chief Executive of South Birmingham Health Authority.
