- Description
- Paul Rowley reports on the controversial bill allowing British passports to up to 50,000 Hong Kong families, which has passed its final hurdle in the House of Commons. The measure was approved unopposed after rebel Conservatives decided not to put the issue to the vote. Contributors to the debate include Tony Marlow MP (Conservative); Home Office Minister, Peter Lloyd; Alistair Darling MP (Labour); Robert Maclennan MP (Lib Dem); Norman Tebbit MP (Conservative). The bill now moves to the House of Lords, where it is expected to get a smoother passage.
