- Max Cotton reports on the shooting dead at close range of two men in Cavendish Road, Balham, South London. Just after lunchtime, a man who had been sitting in a sandwich bar walked out to shoot them before driving off in a white Vauxhall Cavalier. Armed police chased a suspect car which they stopped three miles away in Fulham but the driver has been released. The gunman’s car was found burnt out in nearby Streatham. Includes interview with the policeman leading the investigation, Detective Inspector Doug Tucker; vox pop with people who heard the shooting. (The victims were later identified as Michael McCormack and John Ogden). Volume low at start of clip.
