- Arthur Scargill speaks to the press of the arrest at Heathrow of Yorkshire Miner editor Maurice Jones, who was returning from East Germany. Jones had been seeking political asylum there due to police threats he alleged (in a letter to Arthur Scargill) had been made against him at Wembley Police Station after his arrest at the Grunwick factory picket line. Arthur Scargill reads a statement made by Jones. Dick Kelly, Jones’ MP, intends to raise questions. Male reporter not identified.
