Description

A highly critical report has just been released in America into the initial government raid on the Branch Davidian compound of the religious cult led by David Koresh in Waco, Texas. It concluded the blame for failures lies with local commanders of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) which carried out the raid for going ahead anyway after Koresh was tipped off and lying afterwards. Comment by US Treasury Secretary Lloyd Bentsen; Assistant Treasury Secretary Robert Noble, who produced the report, says ATF Director Stephen Higgins was not to blame. Paul Woodley reports.
