A man has been killed after a night of violence following England’s defeat to West Germany in the 1990 World Cup semi-final. Ronald Goodwin was killed in Totton, near Southampton. Brighton reporter Neil McCafferty reports amidst ugly scenes in Brighton; Professor Eric Dunning is surprised to see such violence in the UK. Alan Eastwood, Chairman of the Police Federation, has called for tougher sentences for those found guilty of violence. Margaret Shiels reports.
