- Report back to the studio by Martin (Walker?) on a press conference by Dr Robert Gale, who is treating victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster by means of bone marrow transplantations. In an excerpt, Gale says the Soviets and Americans have forged a joint effort to publish information on the victims in biomedical literature. Report also mentions a television address by General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev on the disaster, which stuck to the party line and in which Gorbachev attacked what he saw as Western propaganda.
