American president-elect Bill Clinton has named the first members of his cabinet and in a speech explains his appointment of Deficit Hawks. Lloyd Bentsen has been appointed Treasury Secretary and in his first speech lowers the public’s expectations for the economy. Other appointments were Congressman Leon Panetta as manager of the Office of Management and Budget with Alice Rivlin as his deputy; New York based investment bankers Robert Ruben from Goldman Sachs, and Robert Altman. General Colin Powell is being suggested as a possible for Secretary of State. Report by Paul Woodley.
