- The BBC is conducting an internal inquiry after allegations by The Sun’s editor, Kelvin McKenzie, that the Queen’s Christmas speech was leaked from the BBC. The Sun published a transcript of the speech two days early and as punishment had their photography privileges for the Royal Christmas service passed on to the Daily Express.
