- A High Court libel jury has awarded the creators of the EastEnders television series ninety thousand pounds in libel damages against the Sunday Mirror newspaper. The paper had published an article alleging that they had stolen the idea for the soap and its characters from a script submitted by an unknown writer. Legal correspondent Tim Crook was in court. Excerpts from interviews with producer Julia Smith and script editor Tony Holland.
