Description

The home of a British diplomat in Beijing has been hit by machine gun fire. A stray bullet shattered a window of a flat in the diplomatic compound. Pat Farr, the wife of a naval attache, was in the building at the time. She says the Embassy had warned them to beware and to keep their children out of the line of fire.
