Environment Minister David Trippier responding to the publication of an Environment Select Committee report into beach pollution and the risk to bathers of catching minor ailments from untreated sewage in sea water, and also answering European Commisison criticism that many British beaches are failing to meet European safety standards. Trippier on accelerating the primary treatment of sewage onshore, phasing out the dumping of sewage at sea and the need to consider alternatives for sewage disposal. Interviewer is Paul Rowley.
