Pete Murray’s Nightline on the 50th anniversary of the Butlins holiday camps opening. Comedian Charlie Drake, an ex-Red Coat, talks to Sue Reed, author of the book Hello Campers, relaying anecdotes from the camps and describing the history of Butlins, the owner of the camps, Billy Butlin, and the changes that have occurred during the 50 years. Phone-in callers range from ex-employees of Butlins, to past guests. Includes news bulletin (with sport), commercial breaks and a trailer for the AM programme.
