- Report on the death of 9 year-old Nikira(?) Harris from Nottingham after her father refused to give her insulin for her diabetes. Nottingham South MP, Alan Simpson defends the girl’s Rastafarian father, Dwight Harris, after it was discovered that he had tried to treat his daughter using more natural methods. Simpson blames the hospital for not intervening. Dwight Harris was jailed for 30 months, and his wife, Beverley, given a suspended sentence of 18 months. Danny O’Connor reports.
